Red rubber grease is used for repair, assembly and conservation of hydraulic brake components, apply thinly and evenly to cylinder sleeves, pistons and seals. Red rubber grease is compatible with DOT3/4 and 5.1 brake fluids. No mineral oils or greases may be used in places that come into contact with brake fluid.
Red rubber grease is available from many online store, we suggest a Google search or check out our ebay store where we have various purchase options available.
No, we suggest using only silicone guide pin grease as other greases will cause rubber parts to swell and disintegrate over time.
Most vehicles use DOT3, DOT4 or 5.1 brake fluid for the brakes, however we suggest checking you vehicle handbook before using any fluids, the wrong fluid will cause damaged to rubber seals and may even cause brake failure. Some Citroen models use LHM (Mineral oil) this is usually green in colour and can not be used in place of standard brake fluid on other vehicles.
